Singing Teddy Bears

Teddy bears are one toy that has never gone out of style. Children have loved them for more than a century. They are fun companions for any child and often even become a best friend. Children enjoy talking to their teddy bears, but sadly until recent years, the teddy bears never answered. Now they can growl, sing, and even talk.


Some of the earliest teddies were given a growl, which would activate if the teddy was shaken or squeezed. These primitive sounds delighted children of all ages. They could spend hours making their little teddy bears growl and growl.

One of the next advances was the teddy bears that come with little switches in the back where children or parents can wind the toy so it would play music. The music was also rather old-fashioned but still lots of fun.

Then with the advent of batteries, singing teddy bears took a huge leap forward. The bears could play little songs and even sing a little. Of course, the singing and music entranced children but still sounded pretty bad to adults. Undeterred children still craved these singing teddy bears. Next singing teddy bears were ready for a quantum leap.

With the great advances in technology, suddenly teddy bears could sing real songs and play beautiful music. Of course, teddy bears still depended on batteries as a power source; the CDs provided the singing and music. Because the CDs were interchangeable, teddy bears no longer drove their parents crazy with playing the same songs and music over and over. Parents can buy several CDs for the teddy bears.

Some of the CDs can be educational. Teddy bears can teach a child his ABCs and how to count. The singing teddy bears can teach songs that will help them learn to read. The child can hold a copy of the songs and sing along with their bears. What could be better than a favorite teddy bear as a teacher? Children will play with their educational teddy bears for hours on end and have no idea that they are learning while they play.

Over the last century teddy bears are still a favorite toy of most children. Making them educational by having them sing and play music makes them an even better toy.
