Designer teddy bears are all the rage these days. It seems everyone wants a teddy bear that is not only cute and cuddly but represents who they are. People love to be recognized for their special traits and accomplishments and these teddy bears do just that. The most popular bears include those from the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, Build a Bear Workshop and Boyd's Bears.
The Vermont Teddy Bear Company was founded in 1981 when the founder realized all his son's teddy bears were made overseas. He began making and selling the teddy bears locally but the operation soon became nationwide after a radio advertisement for the Bear-Gram ran in New York. The Bear-Gram started the designer bear trend, and today you can buy and send bears of all kinds anywhere in the world. There are occupation bears like doctors and lawyers, sports bears, birthday bears and plenty others.
Boyd's Bears is another designer bear company. These bears represent hobbies, sports and occupations also. Some of them do not represent any particular thing but come dressed in adorable outfits. Boyd's also offers collectible figurines and ornaments in addition to their plush items. Boyd's Bears can be purchased online, from craft and hobby stores or even on QVC. Vermont and Boyd's teddy bears are great for older collectors but not alway cost efficient for children. For youngsters, nothing beats Build-a-Bear Workshop.
Build-a-Bear Workshop lets kids make their own designer teddy bears and other plush animals however they choose. They get to select everything from the fur color to the apparel and accessories. Build-a-Bear Workshop has locations all over the country, and if there is not one near you then you can order a bear online. If your child prefers a plush animal other than a teddy bear, this company offers plenty of other choices like bunnies, chicks, elephants and many more. The bears and other plush creatures from Build-a-Bear Workshop can be dressed in a wide variety of great outfits that your child will surely love.
