Cartoon Teddy Bears

When it comes to cartoon teddy bears, the Care Bears have got to be one of the most popular choices if not the most popular. The Care Bears were first introduced to the world in 1981 and quickly became popular with kids everywhere. These lovable, colorful bears each feature a special logo that designates who they are and what their caring specialty is. For example, Good Luck Bear is a green bear with a shamrock on his belly while Funshine Bear is a yellow bear with a sun on her belly. Other bears include Love-a-Lot Bear, Cheer Bear, Birthday Bear and Grumpy Bear.


You can find the ten Care Bears and their cousins for sale in stores and online. While the bears were popular in the 1980s, their popularity waned in the 90s when the Beanie Baby Craze took hold. Today they Care Bears have been reintroduced to a whole new generation of children who seem to enjoy these colorful bears as much as their parents did. There are plush Care Bears and even animated movies featuring the bears. The movies always tell a valuable story and teach children valuable lessons about friendship and kindness.

The Care Bears motif is a popular one for many nurseries these days. Today's expectant moms remember Care Bears from their own childhood and want to introduce their own kids to the trend. Not only that, but these bears are adorable! The blue bears like Good Night Bear and Grumpy Bear are adorable in a boy's room while the pink bears like Cheer Bear are adorable for a girl's room. Of course, all the bears look cute in either a boy or girl's room.

Care Bears are surely the most popular cartoon teddy bears but not the only ones. The Berenstain Bears are another example of a cartoon bear family from the 80s that is still popular today. The original teddy bears actually came from a political cartoon featuring Teddy Roosevelt, who gave these bears their name. Teddy bears and cartoons have gone hand in hand since their invention in 1902.
